Project Background
CXI 2018 is a conference project that I took part in when I was working at PSFK, CXI stands for Consumer Experience Innovation. PSFK's annual conference CXI 2018 brought together key trends through talks and activations from pioneers at renowned and rising companies across industries.
I created this motion logo graphic with grid and moving lines, to showcase the idea of “idea sharing” and “connecting with others”, which were both important goals with this conference. These motion graphics were used during the start of the conference and in between different speakers.
Creating main visual for the event series and creating social assets and other promotional material.

As a pioneer. Facebook is continuously developing new products and services and exploring new ways to bring them to market. Teams at their Building 8 department and across the company that plan new projects and their go-to-market strategy have been looking for a fresh perspective based on a robust research methodology. I worked with PSFK and created 6 graphics for these scenarios, including 3 future concepts and 3 capabilities. These are all single point-of-view illustration pieces that show the story for the facebook clients.
This identity design piece is made for the Design Show of SAIC Visual Communication Department 2017 curated by SAIC/AIGA student chapter. In the Design show, most of the design works are print based, so in the identity I want to show the process of producing the final result, from digital file to finally "sent to print". I also designed and printed out all the invitation cards using risograph machine, the original file for Risograph printing are also shown below.
This 2m x 1.5m neon light piece was showcased at SAIC BFA SHOW 2017 & VCD DESIGN SHOW 2017
I’m always fascinated with the colorful signage that I’ve seen in Asia. These neon signage reminds me of home and the time that I went out with family and friends at night. I want to explore typography not only on the surface of the paper, I want people to engage and attract to my art and concept. That is the reason why I ended up building a neon sign (1.5m x 2m) with the Chinese phrase “goodnight, goodnight” The concept of this piece is related back to my distanced childhood memories, so I want to showcase that with distorted typography. Street signs always shines brighter at night, so I find using the phrase “good night” is more fitting in this case. It also represents a closure of certain memories of mine, saying goodnight also means saying goodbye to the past and expect a new day to come.

“. . . In that Empire, the Art of Cartography attained such Perfection that the map of a single Province occupied the entirety of a City, and the map of the Empire, the entirety of a Province. In time, those Unconscionable Maps no longer satisfied, and the Cartographers Guilds struck a Map of the Empire whose size was that of the Empire, and which coincided point for point with it. The following Generations, who were not so fond of the Study of Cartography as their Forebears had been, saw that that vast map was Useless, and not without some Pitilessness was it, that they delivered it up to the Inclemencies of Sun and Winters. In the Deserts of the West, still today, there are Tattered Ruins of that Map, inhabited by Animals and Beggars; in all the Land there is no other Relic of the Disciplines of Geography.
